The Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization whose members support Scottsdale’s library system through public education, advocacy and fundraising.
In 2015, the Scottsdale Public Library celebrated its 60th anniversary. With five locations and 3.1 million items available, more than 1.3 million people visit a Scottsdale library branch each year. While libraries are open to all, regardless of age, education or socio-economic status, they are not free. City funds only cover the basics. Members of The Friends help keep libraries open and operating, providing resources for thousands of people to learn and grow every day.
The Scottsdale Public Library serves and sustains our community by fostering learning, discovery and skill enhancement. With accessible facilities and online resources, the library provides lifelong learning opportunities through book and media collections, cultural and educational programming, electronic resources and innovative technology.
