The Friends of Scottsdale Public Library (FSPL) values your privacy and we will not ask for or collect personal information unless it’s necessary. Please read on to learn more about the information we collect.
What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected
- FSPL collects non-personal information about site visitors through your browser/ server, such as the browser you are using and your location. The goal of this information is to optimize the site content and design for our audience.
- If you choose to leave a comment on a site article, your Internet Protocol (IP) address will be captured to verify authenticity. FSPL’s comment moderation system also requires your email address to receive notification of responses.
- If you choose to make a donation, FSPL utilizes a third-party service (PayPal) to process any transactions. FSPL will not have access to your credit card information, you can choose whether or not to provide your street address (we use this to send thank you letters for tax purposes), and we reserve the right to add your email to our mailing list. You also have the option to donate by filling out/sending in our membership brochure, where financial information is destroyed after the donation is processed.
- The FSPL website uses “cookies” to provide better service for users. This information can be as simple as storing your name and email address when you make a comment on the site, and you can turn off or clear cookies within your Web browser at any time.
FSPL does not currently utilize any analytics programs, social media plug-ins, or email list sign-up forms on its website.
How Your Information is Used
FSPL utilizes your information to connect with you and ensure a positive website experience. We do not rent or sell email addresses to anyone outside the organization. You are able to opt out of any emails we send you.
FSPL provides equal treatment to those who exercise their rights under state or national privacy laws, and will be as transparent as possible if you request to see which of your personal information has been collected.
The FSPL website does link to external website. Since these sites are outside of the FSPL domain, FSPL is not responsible for their privacy practices. Please visit other websites at your own risk.
This policy is effective February 1, 2021 on http://scottsdalelibraryfriends.org. It may be reviewed at any time, so please review it periodically. We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time, and your continued use of the FSPL website after changes are made constitutes agreement to the changed terms.
