The Friends was a supporting partner of the 40th annual Scottsdale Library Volunteer Luncheon on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch.
Bruce Wall presents about Scottsdale History at the 40th volunteer luncheon.
Scottsdale historical storyteller Bruce Wall served as guest speaker to discuss one of the most interesting crimes in Scottsdale history. Several City Councilmen and members of the Library Board were also in attendance.
The annual lunch is a celebration of all the hard work by Library volunteers. In Scottsdale, there are nearly three volunteers for every staff member who volunteers at the Library, and their responsibilities include everything from shelving books to reading to children to running the book shops.
As an all-volunteer organization, the Friends is appreciative of the efforts of volunteers to provide the highest quality experience to patrons of Scottsdale Public Library.
The Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library were happy to support the Scottsdale Library’s 2nd Annual Ultimate Play Date.
Members of the Friends Board volunteered at the Saturday event and sold T-shirts to raise money for library services and programs. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table and purchased a T-shirt!
We are excited to partner with the Scottsdale Barnes & Noble for some fun events in November and December. The Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library will be at the store on certain dates to help you wrap your holiday gifts. Plus, during the store’s book fair, some of your purchases will help us fund programs and facility improvements at Scottsdale’s libraries.
Here’s a rundown of the events:
The Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library will be offering gift wrapping services on Monday, December 9 from 2pm to 9pm. We’d love to see you there!
The book fair will start on November 30 and run through December 8. All you have to do is stop by one of our library locations to pick up a flyer.
Present the flyer to the cashier when you make your purchase and a percentage of your purchase will go to the Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library.
We’d also like to invite you to some special events taking place as part of the book fair. Mark your calendars!
The Scottsdale Barnes & Noble is located in the Scottsdale Fiesta Shopping Center (10500 North 90 Street) in Scottsdale – near the corner of Pima Rd. and Shea Blvd.
If you can’t make it to the store, shop online from December 8 to December 13. Visit bn.com/bookfairs and use the code 1125123.
